What Is Bar to Psi Converter?
This converter changes pressure from bar, common in Europe and in hydraulic systems, into pounds per square inch (psi), the customary unit used in US and automotive applications. One bar is exactly 100,000 pascals.
Because 1 pascal is about 0.000145 psi, one bar equals approximately 14.5038 psi. The converter also reports kilopascals, since 1 bar equals exactly 100 kPa, giving you both customary and metric readings of the same pressure.
Formula
Applications
- Converting hydraulic system pressures between bar and psi
- Reading European compressor or boiler gauges in US units
- Checking tire pressures on vehicles with mixed-unit equipment
- Comparing pneumatic tool ratings across manufacturers
